How do I get started?
The best way to begin is by visiting the Getting Started page, where you'll find information about scheduling, insurance, and next steps. If we're a good fit, you'll be able to book a first session through Mindful Therapy Group's secure system.
What can I expect in our first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and any questions you have about the process. It's also a time for you to get a feel for my style and decide whether we're a good fit for working together.
How long does therapy typically last?
The length of therapy varies based on your goals and needs. Some people come for short-term support around a specific issue, while others choose longer-term work focused on deeper patterns, identity, or life transitions. We'll check in regularly and collaborate on what feels most helpful for you.
What is meaning-centered therapy?
Meaning-centered therapy focuses on the deeper questions that shape your life—questions of identity, purpose, values, and how we make sense of suffering and change. It draws from existential, narrative, and humanistic traditions that honor your lived experience and support insight, growth, and personal transformation.
What kinds of concerns do you work with?
I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, aging, life transitions, identity exploration, and questions of meaning and purpose. If you're unsure whether your concerns are a good fit, you're welcome to reach out.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept many major insurance plans through Mindful Therapy Group. Coverage varies by plan, so you may wish to confirm benefits with your insurance provider or MTG's billing team.
Do you offer private pay or sliding scale?
Yes. My standard session fee is $120 for a 50-minute session. I also offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots, typically ranging from $75–90, based on availability and individual circumstances.
What is your licensure status?
I am a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in Oregon and provide therapy under the supervision of Arwen Huffman, LCSW. This means I am fully trained to provide psychotherapy and participate in regular clinical supervision to ensure high-quality, ethical care.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer telehealth sessions through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged the full session fee.
Is therapy right for me?
Many people seek therapy not because something is "wrong," but because they want support, clarity, or a deeper connection to themselves. If you're feeling curious about what change or healing could look like, therapy may be a meaningful place to begin.
